recession After a year of credit-crunch misery, the US economy is still far from healthy, and Mark Gongloff at the Wall Street Journal has assembled what he calls the main scenarios most economists and analysys are considering for what may come next:

  • Stagflation — 20-1 against
  • “Lost decade” like Japan’s — 15-1 against
  • Next year turnaround — 10-1 against
  • Just getting by — 2-1 for
